Do jumping spiders jump?

As their name suggests, jumping spiders are incredible jumpers, capable of jumping up to 20 times their body length.

Are jumping spiders venomous?

Like wolf spiders and house spiders, jumping spiders are capable of biting and  do produce venom, but their venom is not considered dangerous.

What do jumping spiders eat?

Jumping spiders eat small insects and arthropods.

Do jumping spiders make webs?

No, jumping spiders do not spin webs to catch their prey. Instead, they use their excellent eyesight and superior jumping skills to hunt for houseflies, stink bugs, and other pests.

Jumping spiders will build loosely woven, saclike web retreats where they molt, hibernate, and lay eggs.

Do jumping spiders live inside homes?

Jumping spiders are usually found outdoors but will enter homes when chasing prey. Common places to find jumping spiders indoors include:

  • Around doors and windows
  • Under furniture
  • In the cracks of wood floors
  • In the folds of drapes & fabrics

What should I do if I see a jumping spider?

While there’s no need to sound the alarm if you find a jumping spider in your home, it should be an indication that you have other bugs in your house and that could possibly be a larger issue. That’s why it’s important to contact a pest control company at the first sign of a spider problem.
